Hydrovoima moves to new location in the beginning of February 2012.
HistoryHydrovoima was established in the year 1958, and specialized in bakery machines since 1962. In the beginning, there were two innovative men, Mr. Suominen and Mr. Laitinen. They were famous about their ability to create new ideas. Among other things they won a first prices in International Inventor´s Exhibition in Paris in 1959 and in Brussels in 1960. The innovation was a hydraulic piston without cam shaft and it is used for instance in paper machines of today. These two brave men were contacted in the early 60´s by one baker in the region. He gave the men a challenge: rye dough bread with hole on it had to be done with a machine. Suominen and Laitinen had to start from a blank sheet because any rye dough bakery machine did not exist at that point. They soon came with some fresh ideas which bakers refused right away. Anyhow they were stubborn and built the machine. Already the first machine included the continuous dough sheeting method and it was capable to handle one of the most difficult dough type; 100% rye. It turned out to be a real jackpot for the bakers and started a long road in the mechanization of Finnish bakeries. Hydrovoima concentrated on the development of bakery machines. The rye dough machine the ”Kantti” was produced in big volume and every year there were new innovations coming from the company. In the 70´s there were more than 150 different original designs for bakery equipment from crate washing machines to fat fryers. In 1982 a totally new type of continuous dough sheeting technology saw the light. Dough sheeter series for wheat and mix wheat dough types and various equipment around it were launched. It started a 30- year long success that continues even today. In the beginning of 90´s Hydrovoima started more active export business. Today major part of deliveries are carried out as export business. In 2004 Soft Sheeter series was launched to replace the old rye dough machine and technology. Soft Sheeter series was developed and designed for most dough types i.e. rye, oat, spelt, buckwheat, hard doughs, liquid and sticky dough types and also in some cases for wheat and wheat mix dough types. Soft Sheeter has broken the earlier records by 15 % to handle liquid dough types. So far Hydrovoima has not found any dough types not suitable for Soft Sheeter. In 2008 Hydrovoima expanded its business sector and started to concetrate to turnkey concepts. |
